New Beginnings

Happy New Year, everyone!

As the years pass, I simply cannot stay out (or awake) too deep into the night as I once did in my younger years. I have much more appreciation of the quiet moments at home these days. Kat and I have been doing a lot more reading and writing in the evenings before bed. It has been a nice way to unwind and settle my thoughts.

On this New Year's Eve we opted to stay in, relax in bed and get a good night's sleep for an early morning trip to Point Lobos State Park.

We took off early and arrived at the park a little before opening and were surprised to see a long line of cars at the gate. I cannot say I am surprised as Point Lobos is an absolute gem of a location. There are tons of hiking trails to explore, amazing seascapes and beautiful wildlife in the park. If you plan on visiting in the winter months, bring along a thicker coat as it does get pretty brisk and windy in area.

It was a great morning of exploration in what can easily be argued as the crown jewel of Carmel.

Below are just some of the images we made from inside the park.

Enjoy the images.
