Kat's Birthday Celebration
It was that lovely time of year again, Kat’s birthday. Each year we try to get away even if it’s a short local escape. This year, we spent a long weekend in the desert and mountain areas.
On the first two days, we explored the Palm Springs area. It was my first time there so I was really excited to see what it had to offer. The area we stayed at was really fun as hit had a great pool, a cactus garden and so many little amenities to enjoy. Hands down my favorite part was the pool. We spent a big chunk of time there just reading and dipping into the cool water.
The last two days, we spent at a cabin in the Idyllwild area which was less than hour away from the Palm Springs area. Kat had been talking about staying in an A-Frame style cabin for some time and this weekend it all came to fruition. It was an amazing cabin! It was tucked away on a hillside with an amazing view of tall trees starting to shift colors. It had all that we needed (not that we needed a lot) for the next two days. We honestly didn’t do much but hang out, read and enjoy the scenery. It was perfect.
After four days, it was time to head back to San Diego. It was a short and sweet trip to celebrate Kat. I’m sure we’ll be back up to visit again. I did make a few images from around the cabin for posterity while we were out there. These photos bring back so many fond memories of our time there. Thanks for reading. - Marco
