Sketchbook

Rough sketches, outtakes, thoughts and random notes about my time in the field.

Return to the Lake

It had been some time since I have been back to one of my favorite places to walk. I headed out there for a morning stroll and some quiet time. I brought the camera and one lens to possibly make a few images if anything caught my eye. It had been raining a lot as of late and parts of the trail were closed. The trees and plants were enjoying all the recent rain. Everything was extremely green and beautiful.

As I walked through familiar areas I noticed a lot of new small scenes. Enough time had passed since I had been there last that some familiar trees looked distinctly different, it was nice to see.

That morning, I made a few sketches of various scenes that resonated with me. I have no idea if any of these sketches will go beyond this digital sketchbook and into a collection but it’s completely fine. As I continue on this journey, the final product (whatever that even means) matters less and less. For me, it’s about the process and the moments spent outside.

Below are some sketches from that Saturday morning. Thanks for taking a look. - Marco
